Ordering another two bags says it all.
I have endeavored to keep a lifetime supply of lead shot in reserve since the Clinton Administration and as the necessary volume has actuarially decreased the scarcity (and cost) has continued to increase.
Better value (total price with shipping and product quality) than the only other option for recycled shot. I've used recycled lead shot almost exclusively for the past dozen years and almost feel handicapped when shooting straight eights or seven-fives for sporting clay competitions and almost always end up in the top third.
I always forget how dense lead is versus steel or other materials I use for adding mass to objects. It is close to 50% more dense than steel. I used this shot to make sewing pattern weights by filling PVC pipe caps with the lead shot and then pouring epoxy resin completely encapsulating the shot and bonding it to the caps. The 2" caps ended up weighing 13 ounces each. They are perfect for holding patterns in place while cutting fabric. Previously I used cans of beans (weight 16 ounces) that are about 4 times as large and only slightly heavier.
The shot comes in nice cloth bags, it is clean, dust free and I used it straight from the bag.
In the past I've used washers and pennies for mass. They are not as dense and not as easy to fit into spaces as these smaller than a BB lead shot.
